The Center for Quantum Nanoscience (QNS), an extramural research center of the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) 

located at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Engineer to join our Engineering Team.

QNS is one of the world-leading research centers in quantum nanoscience. 

We foster an international and collaborative working environment with a flat organizational culture that values the contribution of every team member. 

English is the primary working language of our research center, 

with approximately half of our members from Korea and the other half from various countries around the world.

◆ Position Information

1.       Job Title: Engineer

2.       Organization: IBS Center for Quantum Nanoscience (QNS)

3.       Location: Ewha Womans University, Seoul, South Korea

4.       Job Description:

·         Laboratory safety management

·         Helium recycling and liquefier operation

·         Maintenance of research equipment

·         Development of STM(Scanning Tunneling Microscope) experimental systems

·         Technical support for researchers

5.       Required Skill and Knowledge:

·         Bachelor’s degree or higher in science or engineering

·         Ability to manage laboratory safety training and procedures

·         Experience with liquid helium, liquid nitrogen, and cryogenic systems

·         Understanding of UHV systems, superconducting magnets, and cryogenics

·         Experience with STM(Scanning Tunneling Microscope) systems is preferred

·         Strong understanding of experimental equipment

·         Good communication skills and willingness for self-development

·         Programming experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, SolidWorks, or related tools

·         Conversational English skills

·         Proficiency in computer usage

·         Contract Period: 1 year (renewable annually)
